I probably should have started with this one really.
How did you get into Dragon Age? What is it about the games that keeps you interested.
For me it's all the fault of
flickums (my sister). When I bought my PS3 way back when I sent her a text asking for game suggestions and she recommended Arkham Asylum or Dragon Age: Origins. I've always been a fan of D&D/Fantasy games way back to playing text adventures on my Commodore 64 in the 80s so I decided to give Dragon Age a go.
I was sold as soon as I saw that not only could you choose races other than human but you could also customise what your character looks like. Any game that lets you design your character is an instant win for me (if anyone knows other games like this I am all ears).
The story of Origins is great too. I love that you can make decisions which shape the outcome of the world you're in. The plot is classic D&D. The supporting characters are all amazing and well-written.
And when I went in I didn't even know you could have a romance with one of your companions. I discovered it totally by accident when I accidentally clicked on Alistair in a cave while searching for the Urn of Sacred Ashes. He gave me a rose and my heart melted.
I basically became glued to my PS3. I did all the origin stories, all the romances. I couldn't get enough of it. I pre-ordered DA2 as soon as I could and then binge-played that one too.
DAI is still ongoing as I have 4 more characters which I've created that I need to finish. After that I might go back to Origins again (although I just completed it again recently with all the DLC this time). Or I might just play DAI constantly until DA4 comes out :D
