Party Members

So here's my question. Do you have a default party that you use whenever you play one of the games or do you mix it up depending on the character you're playing?

I mixed it up in the beginning so I could have a go at playing with everyone but I've settled into default parties now

Origins: Alistair, Leliana, Wynne
Awakening: Nathaniel, Velanna, Anders
DA2: Anders, Fenris, Isabela
Inquisition: Dorian, Bull, Cole

What about you guys?

My parties end up with at least one of each class as a default set up, which is my cautious side going "but you might neeeed them".

For Origins, I stuck to Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana pretty consistently. I only swapped Leliana for Zevran in my second playthrough because I was romancing him.

With DA2, once I played a few times, I broke the class balance rule to mix it up and get interesting banter I hadn't heard before. I also tend to keep rarer characters such as the Hawke twin and Sebastian in as much as possible while they are available. But it's a rare playthrough I don't take Fenris everywhere.

Inquisition is the one that has been affected the most strongly by my character's preferences. While my first Inquisitor stayed close to Varric, Cassandra and Solas, my second had Iron Bull, Vivienne and Sera.

Hi!

get interesting banter

Bioware has got to recognize that we will spend hours playing and replaying their games to catch these bits.

Points to Bioware - because I play and replay, I'm less skittish about the price tag, because I know I'm going to spend hours with it, as opposed to a game I'm going to run through once and I'm done.

Hello :)

Bioware games definitely have a lot of replay value just because the game can be so different each time (and also reassuringly familiar when you want them to be). Although saying that I have only played the DA and ME games. I definitely made the most of DA2 (I created ten Hawkes and maxed out my PS3 save files).
