Seeing cherieofthedragons's recent post with a few of their fic, I was wondering maybe if people would be interested in designating a day of the week in which all we fanfic writers could exhibit and share select stories? And maybe there could be a day for artists, fanmixers, etc, as well?

Oh, yes--I didn't mean to imply that'd be the ONLY time to share works! Just perhaps a specific day to exhibit them--the new ones again, the older ones one is proud of, etc.

I'm not sure if someone is moderating who would organize such a thing, or if someone like myself would just go "Hey, how about every Thursday we choose two fic to exhibit on here?" and do it that way?

I am not fluent im dreamwidth and no not how these things work, please forgive me!

I think a lot of us are new to dreamwidth right now, but maybe you and I just start posting things on a particular day, labeling it "Fic Friday" or whatever day we choose. Or start a thread on that day for people to leave fic in the comments. Unless someone comes in and objects to the idea, in which case we can reconsider.

I'm in the throes of NaNo right now, and just wanted to pop in and say:
"Hi! Welcome to the comm! I'd stay and chat but my brain cells will be in high demand for the rest of the month."
Basically, I'm reading the new posts on the comm, and I may not be able respond for a while.

So:
a) I'm up for what you two are suggesting, but I'm not the comm admin - that would be hils.
b) If you two (and/or others) are interested in a DA prompt comm, then I'm going to recommend that you try out playersofthedas (probably won't work for your completed fics though - unless they manage to fit the weekly prompts).
c) Another prompt fic comm, 21_days, runs various three week fic fests for various fandoms (DA ran in September, and the next two opportunities are slated for December and April as Dead Prompt parties).

d) I suggest that posted fics be placed under cuts to keep reading the posts manageable (in case you aren't familiar with cuts).
e) Another suggestion is for trigger warnings, which will go a long way to keeping the comm accessible.

A) Good luck with NaNo! I've never personally been able to win one, but I also work in an industry that is effected by the holidays, and well, November always seemed like one of the worst months to have this damn challenge. But! I know people who have done it and won (one of my cousins, in fact!) so, hope you knock it out of the park!

B) Thanks for the links, though I think this idea is more for older fic already written (or at least started) rather than any new prompts—but maybe there will be others that come along who will be interested!
