So [personal profile] norwood suggested a specific day of the week where fanfic writers can share their works with similar days for artists etc

I like this plan! Obviously if you post something and want to share here right away you should absolutely do that thing! This is more for older works.

And if you're not a creator of fanworks you can use these days to share links to stuff you have enjoyed. Recs for all the things!

So, how does this look?

Monday - Fanfiction
Tuesday - Fanart
Wednesday - Videos
Thursday - Crafts & Meta
Friday - Cosplay

I like where this is going, and so I'm chiming in.
I'd like to request that folks keep longer works under cuts, and to at least use some form of trigger warnings as needed (I don't personally need trigger warnings myself, but I'm sure that there will be others that do).

What about introducing the idea of a general format for submitters to have before they post their story/fanart (and maybe meta?), which would be the most likely to have triggery things? Something maybe like—

Title:
Pairings (if applicable):
Word count:
Summary:
Trigger Warnings (if applicable):
Links (ao3, ff.net, devART, tumblr, lj, etc):

And also perhaps a reference list (eventually) of trigger warnings people would like might be helpful? I know I certainly try to tag as neccesary and keep as many in mind as I can, but sometimes some slip my mind or I forget a particular peice has something, etc.

A random thought: Events like "fanwork sharing days" can be easily forgotten and lost in the archives of time. Have you considered making a "fanwork sharing day" post each day of the week?

The post would say what kind of fanwork recos and shares are welcome, and ask people to make those shares and recos in the comments to that post. For example, if Monday is "Fanfic sharing day," there would be a post each monday asking people to leave a comment that recommends one piece of fanfic someone else wrote or one piece of fanfic that they wrote that they want to promote.

Given that people can be shy to share/reco, it might help to have a theme for the day or the week? Themes should be broad and able to be interpreted in a myriad of ways like "friendship" or "fluff" or "angst" or "family" or "rivals" etc.

Anyhow, the idea of fanwork sharing is a wonderful idea and I don't want to see it lost and forgotten, going no further than this post. :)

Edited to add: you might want to also make a tag for the fanwork sharing days posts so, in the future, people can easily browse all of the fanfic sharing posts vs all of the fanart sharing posts, and so on.
